Juan de Fuca Senior Citizens Association, Island Highway, Victoria, BC, Canada
In this workshop we will learn the essentials of putting together a successful post-impressionist mountain painting. We will discuss sky and cloud formations, sculpting the peaks, the use of the white of the paper to create snow, the importance of cast shadows, atmospheric perspective, creating interest in the midground, and foreground options. Both wet on wet and direct painting with transparent and opaque watercolours will be demonstrated, as well as negative painting techniques. Class runs 10 am to 3:30 pm. A supply list will be provided. This class is only available to members of the JDF Senior Citizens Association and will take place at the JDF 55+ Activity Centre.
