9 Jul 2022 Atmospheric Perspective in the Landscape Category: Workshop/Class Venue: Metchosin ArtPod, Happy Valley Road, Victoria, BC, Canada
In this one day workshop we will explore the use of hue, value, intensity, and detail to create atmospheric perspective in the landscape. We will also look at the use of wet on wet painting and glazing, to see how those techniques can help create distance and dimension. Participants are encouraged to bring their own reference materials, as well as having their drawings done and their paper mounted on a painting support before class begins, so that the full day can be spent on the actual painting. A copy of the instructor's reference photo and a supply list will also be emailed before the date. There will be some instructor demos as well as individual consultations and a group critique. 10 am to 4 pm.
If you are an acrylic painter you are welcome to attend and do the workshop exercises in acrylics, although all instruction and demos will be in watercolour and some techniques do not apply to acrylic painting.
Registration is via Eventbrite Cost is $110.
Please note: this workshop is in an upstairs classroom at Metchosin ArtPod and is not accessible. In addition, this instructor as a vulnerable person requires attendees to be vaccinated and to wear masks if approaching the instructional area.
